The Journey Behind Our Mission
I’m Wendy Carrier, and I’m the founder of Hire Like A Champion-a company that helps U.S. businesses grow by matching them with top-tier virtual professionals from the Philippines.
Before I tell you what we do, let me tell you why I created it-because, honestly, it came from pure survival mode.
Back in 2008, I was a stay-at-home mom with four little girls and I decided to start a business. I launched an eCommerce store selling groceries. At first it was manageable, but within a year it took off.
Suddenly I was juggling a household and a business that was moving $20K of inventory a month. I started falling behind at home and in the business. I understand now why so many businesses don’t make it-the founder can’t keep their energy level up indefinitely.
That’s when my husband said, “You need to hire help.” Like many founders, I resisted, thinking I couldn’t afford it, it would take too long to train someone, and no one could do it as well as I could.
But I was drowning in work so I finally took his advice. Because I was on a tight budget, I had to hire inexpensively and I found a virtual assistant from the Philippines. Her name was Judi and she changed everything. She understood ecommerce-better than I did sometimes- and most importantly, she delivered results. That single hire gave me back my time, my family & my business. Over the next 15 years, I grew that scrappy online store into a multimillion-dollar business that is staffed mostly with Filipino contractors.
Fast forward to 2024, I launched Hire Like A Champion to help other business owners experience the freedom that comes from scaling with smart, affordable outsourcing.

Office Manager
Courtney leads our eCommerce team and is also responsible for payroll and invoicing, ensuring everything stays organized and on track.

Ann Sedo
Accounting Manager
Ann manages all of our QuickBooks accounting, ensuring accurate financial records and smooth day-to-day operations.
